Every company is different and company drug free policies often spell out the test panel you will be testing for. Our recommendation is to test for a five panel DOT Look a Like, a ten panel DOT Look a Like or a ten panel DOT Look a Like with Expanded Opiates and OXY. Read More >>> to find common drug testing panels.
DOT Look a Like provides for some extra testing: A test for the heroin metabolite 6-Acetylmorphine (6 AM) is included in the Opiate panel. Also, testing for methamphetamine and MDMA (metabolite of ecstasy) is included in the Amphetamine panel. This panel gives you more testing for the same price, picking up these additional drugs.
The five panel DOT test is required for DOT testing and includes: Amphetamines, MDMA, and 6AM; Marijuana (THC); Opiates including Heroin, Codeine and Morphine; Cocaine and Phencyclidine (PCP).
For non-DOT programs, National Drug Screening highly recommends employers utilize the 10 DOT Like panel + Expanded Opiates + Oxy panel. This panel inldudes Cocaine, Marijuana (THC, cannabinoids), Phencyclidine (PCP – angel dust), Amphetamines (including methamphetamines, also known as crystal meth), Opiates (including heroin, codeine, morphine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, Oxycodone), Benzodiazepines (such as Xanax), Barbiturates, Methadone, Propoxyphene, Methaqualone (Quaaludes).
