Every day at National Drug Screening we process over sixty orders for individual drug testing including employers ordering preemployment drug tests. These are tests done without a direct account with laboratories, such as Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp.
Looking at our data for the last few years, most of our orders for drug tests came primarily from Florida, Texas, New York, Wisconsin, Connecticut, California, Georgia, and Michigan. We do receive drug test orders from every state in the United States.
Our top five drug test orders sold were as follows:
- Ten Panel Urine Drug Test (10 Panel)
- Five Panel Drug Test (5 Panel)
- Department of Transportation (DOT) Urine Drug Test
- Hair Drug Test 5 Panel
- Instant Rapid Urine Test 5 Panel
Another big seller is the Owner-Operator DOT Consortium Package.
Let us look at each of the drug test order types we sell most often.
10-Panel Urine Drug Test
The 10 panel has become more common as more individuals are using more varieties of illicit drugs. This product tests for the following drugs: methadone, Methaqualone, Phencyclidine (PCP), Propoxyphene, barbiturates, Benzodiazepine, cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines including methamphetamine, and opiates including codeine, morphine, and heroin.
If you count the drugs listed above, there are more than ten, but certain drug classes include additional versions of that class of drug. Commonly today, testing is requested to be expanded for the opiates panel to include the synthetic opiates of hydrocodone, hydromorphone, Oxymorphone, and Oxycodone.
The 10-panel urine drug test was our biggest seller in 2022.
5-Panel Drug Test
Four or five years ago we found the 5-panel drug test to be the most popular, but the 10-panel drug test is growing in popularity. We do see many tests ordered for probation or court-ordered tests for the 5 panel; many employers still rely on the 5-panel test as the standard.
The drugs for the 5 panel are PCP, cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines including methamphetamine, and opiates including codeine, morphine, and heroin. Just as we do with the 10 panel, we get many requests for the expanded opiates of Oxymorphone, Oxycodone, hydrocodone, and hydromorphone. This is often referred to as a DOT Like 5-panel drug test.
DOT Urine Drug Test
There are no options for testing under the United States DOT drug testing. Many think DOT now requires a 7 panel or 12 panel. It is still actually a 5 panel and includes the following: amphetamines (including ecstasy and methamphetamines), cocaine, marijuana [THC, cannabinoids], PCP, and opiates. It is important to note that the DOT drug test panel includes the standard opiates and expanded, or synthetic, opiates as follows: heroin, codeine, morphine, Oxymorphone, Oxycodone, hydrocodone, and hydromorphone. Our DOT urine drug test is very affordable and can be ordered online or over the phone at 866-843-4545.
Hair Drug Test 5 Panel
Hair drug testing has become very popular for employers and for individuals. Many court systems are ordering hair drug tests. The hair drug testing methodology make more sense for EtG testing and date-rape drug testing.
The standard hair drug test 5 panel that we offer from Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp includes: marijuana, opiates (codeine, morphine, and 6-MAM heroin metabolite), amphetamines (methamphetamine and ecstasy), cocaine, and PCP. This is a popular test available at over 6,000 locations nationwide.
Instant Rapid Urine Test–5 Panel
Need fast drug test results? The instant rapid urine 5-panel test gets you same-day test results. These are available at our Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp locations throughout the United States. The Instant Rapid Urine Test–5 Panel is particularly attractive for preemployment testing. This test is not authorized for DOT testing.
The 5-panel instant rapid test includes PCP, cocaine–COC, amphetamine–AMP, methamphetamines–MAMP, opiates–OPI, and marijuana–THC.
Some states prohibit the use of instant rapid tests, also sometimes called point of collection testing. In some states, licensing is required to perform instant drug testing. Caution is advised in Nevada, Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Ohio, Puerto Rico, and Vermont. Perhaps you may want to look at our comprehensive guide to all the states’ drug-testing laws—WORKPLACE DRUG TESTING LAWS.
Owner-Operator DOT Consortium Package
The Owner-Operator DOT Consortium Package is also a big seller. DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires owner-operators of trucks to participate in a drug and alcohol testing consortium. This is a huge program at National Drug Screening (NDS) with thousands of owner-operator drivers enrolled in our FMCSA consortium program.
A one-stop shop is available for an owner-operator truck driver to get everything they need to comply with the DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements. NDS offers an affordable program with simple enrollment and everything is covered. Experts are available to assist you in the event of a new entrant exam or safety audit.
For any of the above options, it is easy to go online and Order a Drug Test. Same-day immediate service is always available.
