Written Drug & Alcohol Testing Policy <\/strong>\u2013 FMCSA regulation Part 382 specifically requires that employers have a written policy that is distributed to each driver. 362.601 \u2013 Employer obligation to promulgate a policy on the misuse of alcohol and use of controlled substances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Employee Education<\/strong> \u2013 FMCSA regulation Part 382 specifically requires that each employer shall provide educational materials that explain the requirements of this part and the employer\u2019s policies and procedures with respect to meeting these requirements. (382.601(a).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Supervisor Training<\/strong> \u2013 FMCSA regulation Part 382 specifically requires each employer shall ensure that all persons designated to supervise drivers receive at least 60 minutes of training on alcohol misuse and receive at least an additional 60 minutes of training on controlled substances use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Online training<\/a> is always available on demand for employee education and supervisor training for reasonable suspicion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Random Testing<\/strong> \u2013 all DOT regulated employers must have a random testing pool either a stand-alone pool or a consortium pool. The random testing program must be operated according to DOT rules and best practices.
