Do you have drug free workplace<\/strong><\/a>? <\/p>\n\n\n\n The fact is that the cost of substance abuse in the workplace directly affects an organization\u2019s effectiveness, its ability to serve its customers and employees, and the cost of goods and services it produces. These extra costs affect the organization\u2019s competitive position and, ultimately, an employee\u2019s long-term job security as the increased costs translate into higher operating costs and less money left over for employees, i.e., salary increases, employee health and insurance benefits, and retirement accounts. No matter how sympathetic a supervisor or other employees may be, those who are \u201cnon-substance\u201d abusers are actually robbed of potential benefits and salary in order to pay for the illicit habits of others. Substance abuse in the workplace is a thief and an organization\u2019s employees and shareholders are the ones who pay the price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Employed drug abusers cost their employers about twice as much in medical care and workers\u2019 compensation claims as their drug free co-workers. On average that is $7,000.00 to $10,000.00 more per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thirty eight to fifty percent of all Workers\u2019 Compensation claims involve drugs or alcohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Substance abusers account for more than 40 percent of all employee theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Drug-free workplace programs<\/a><\/strong> can have both short and long term benefits, is it time to consider implementing a drug-free workplace<\/strong><\/a>?
