Government employers should always call for potential additional restrictions on employee drug testing.<\/p>\n<p>A written drug-free workplace policy is required in Minnesota, see also Minnesota\u2019s Drug and Alcohol Testing Act; AUTHORIZED DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/?id=181.951\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">181.951<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Minnesota<\/strong> prohibits point-of-collection testing in their mandatory laws, which apply to all employers in the state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important to Note<\/strong>: In <strong>Minnesota<\/strong> employers are required to notify employees and applicants in writing of both positive and negative results within 3 days of receipt of the results from a laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>Adults may legally possess cannabis on August 1, 2023.\u00a0 The law does provide language protecting those who consume cannabis at home from facing sanctions in the workplace if they test positive for cannabis metabolites on a drug screen.\u00a0 Caution is advised when making employment decisions based marijuana positive drug test.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nationaldrugscreening.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/us_state_laws\/50489"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nationaldrugscreening.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/us_state_laws"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nationaldrugscreening.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/us_state_laws"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.nationaldrugscreening.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/us_state_laws\/50489\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":119548,"href":"https:\/\/www.nationaldrugscreening.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/us_state_laws\/50489\/revisions\/119548"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.nationaldrugscreening.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=50489"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
