Are you hiring new employees and need to send them in for drug testing? A pre-employment drug test is critical to make sure you are not hiring someone who has a substance abuse issue. Often, pre-employment drug testing is required because of regulations (DOT), contract or insurance requirements. The typical Non-DOT pre-employment test is a 5-panel drug test, but you can also opt to do the 10-panel drug test. For DOT drug testing only the DOT 5 Panel drug test can be used.

Employers can order online a pre-employment drug test or set up an account for ongoing ordering. Service is nationwide in all areas of the United States. Employers can order online or call 866-843-4545 for immediate pre-employment drug testing.

Some employers will elect to take off the marijuana (THC) from either of the above drug test panels. This is legal for Non-DOT drug testing programs. DOT drug testing does require the DOT 5 Panel and it must include the marijuana (THC).

If you are looking for additional drugs to test for in your pre-employment drug testing program, check out our new Drug Test Finder. You can select the drugs you are looking for to find out in what drug test panel those drugs will be available.

The first step to maintaining a drug free workplace program is to conduct pre-employment drug testing. You should receive back the negative results of a drug test before placing the applicant into your workplace. The job offer is made contingent on passing the drug test. Do not hire an individual who tests positive on a pre-employment drug test.

If you are using a rapid or instant drug test device and the results of the test are non-negative; the specimen must be confirmed at a laboratory with additional testing. This is important to avoid exposure to liability. The result of a rapid or instant drug test is not reliable unless the results is negative. Many staffing agencies use the rapid or instant drug test so you should check that they are sending non-negative specimens out to a laboratory for confirmation testing. The advantage of the rapid or instant drug test device is the immediate negative results. You can order a rapid or instant drug test online from National Drug Screening. Note that some remote areas might not have the rapid drug testing available.

Order a 10 Panel Rapid Drug Test

Order a 5 Panel Rapid Drug Test

You can also call 866-843-4545 to order your rapid or instant drug tests or to set up an account.

Most pre-employment drug testing is a urine drug test. Some Non-DOT companies are now opting to have oral fluid drug testing performed. The collection for a lab based oral fluid test is usually done in house at the employer business. A manager works with the applicant to collect oral fluid on a swab and then ships it off FedEx to the laboratory. Results come back one to two days after lab receives and are reviewed by the Medical Review Officer.

Lab based oral fluid testing works well for larger employers and with employers in remote areas. It is a direct observation collection with no specific gender required so cheating is very difficult. The standard 5-panel or a standard 9-panel test can be utilized. Methaqualone (Quaaludes) testing is not available with the oral fluid testing.

Our collection sites typically do not stock oral fluid collection devices, this is an employer collect program.

Oral Fluid Drug Testing Are you hiring new employees and need to send them in for drug testing?
