JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — First Coast News continues to track the lives impacted or destroyed by Hurricane Helene's catastrophic damage in Florida and the Southeastern United States.

We know it is a challenging time, and we have partnered with the American Red Cross to bring you a safe donation link to help. You can also call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Millions of people are still impacted by the storm and more than 900 Red Cross disaster responders are working around the clock to help those in need. Red Cross is currently focused on providing safe shelter, meals, emotional support and relief supplies.

If you can't make a financial donation, you could consider making a blood donation instead. Every blood donor between Oct. 1 and 31 will receive a $10 Amazon gift card.

Helene roared ashore in the Florida's Big Bend area late Thursday as a Category 4 hurricane and quickly moved through Georgia, the Carolinas and Tennessee dropping torrential rainfall that flooded waterways and destroyed homes.

So far, there have been over 130 deaths reported in six Southeastern states.

If you are someone in need of assistance, the Red Cross may be able to help. Go to redcross.org/gethelp or download the Red Cross Emergency app.
