Gators' Graham Mertz to return for the '23-'24 football season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Graham Mertz will be back at Florida next season for his final year of eligibility. It will be in his sixth year playing college football.

Mertz, who's a transfer quarterback from Wisconsin who had a strong season with the Florida Gators, made the announcement today. 

Mertz suffered a broken collarbone in Florida's Week 12 loss to Missouri and missed the season finale versus Florida State.

Gators athletics said Mertz led the Southeastern Conference by completing 72.9 percent of his passes (261 of 358) with a career-high 20 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

He spent most of his college football career in Wisconsin with 22 touchdowns in his final season in 2022.
